We have left the following just to give you an idea of how things were. GENERAL INFORMATIONPlease be sure that anyone you invite reads this to ensure that they understand what they are visiting. All are welcome providing they are considerate of others. Families are very welcome while bearing in mind that facilities are not up to plush campsite standards. The camp is held in a beautiful area of Devon which is also one of the sunniest in the UK There are always visitors from other countries, which lends an international flavour. The dates for the camp and its various activities can be found on the next page. COSTS
BOOKINGIf people book in advance it helps us to estimate what facilities to provide. Priority will be given to those who have booked (particularly during the main weekend) Future camps may be open to subscribers and booked guests only. Please use our online form or our postal address. ACTIVITIESThe camp is not a festival, but a very interesting place to put your tent. It is personal, informal and relaxing. You can help to make the solar showers and learn about renewable energy. How much conservation work you do, if any, is up to you. Simply relax if you wish. Activities include sustainable technology and conservation projects, organised walks, music and martial arts. Games and child care organised by parents.. Events timetables may be found on the dates page. MUSIC
FACILITIESOur facilities are functional although not luxurious. We do
not hire equipment but construct our own large solar showers
(free) with a wood burner back up for cloudy days. There are
basic, organic flush toilets. Mains and natural bore hole water. No
mains electricity. Solar and wind power for some lighting and
essential camp equipment only. Large shelters are constructed
for wet weather. Don't forget your tent and basic camping gear! FOODThere is a constantly burning large camp fire for people to cook on but please be prepared to take turns (grates and some pans provided) By all means bring your own cookers or eat in the café, open during the busy period of the camp. Cooked by our French Chef Maurice (visiting from his alternative Swiss Bistro) there will be a choice of affordable vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. Great value breakfasts will also be available. For safety reasons no individual open fires please. SECURITYCamp visitors and supporters include Martial Arts experts and local Police but ICAN has never had reason to request security assistance. However please understand that ICAN cannot accept any liability for loss or damage. YOUTH GROUPSWe welcome schools and youth groups. Please check your insurance. We have a form for exempting ICAN from insurance of youth groups. DOGSA beautiful field is available adjoining the main
field for those who are camping with dogs. They must be secured
on a leash at all times, under control and any mess cleared up.
