ICAN21 - camps, environmental awareness and education, energy conservation
The International Conservation Awareness Network (ICAN) holds conservation
camps where you can take part in ecology and renewable energy projects.
Educational, relaxing & fun. Children welcome. Music, Yoga,
Judo, Aikido, Tai Chi and Capoeira. ICAN has become a popular Martial
Arts camp with recognised British and International experts taking
part.
ICAN camps involve helping with conservation activities such
as small-scale renewable energy projects, pond making, tree planting,
etc. Furniture is made from recycled wood, and ovens made from
clay. Many people bring musical instruments to play around the
campfire on our site near beautiful sea views and dramatic East
Devon cliffs and countryside. Close to the camp is Sidmouth, which
hosts the largest international folk festival in Northern Europe.
People come from all over the world to play music in the local
pubs, on the streets and on the seafront and beach around the
same dates as the camp
The long-term project of ICAN is to set up a permanent nature,
environment and alternative technology centre in East Devon
If you are interested in helping our long-term project of a permanent
nature centre or would llike to attend our annual camps our address
can be found on the Contact Us page.
ICAN camps are for security and legal reasons not public events
although new members are always welcome.
